Winter Wonderland!

Here are the promised pics. Four inches in the park near my house. I think snow makes winter worth it. Frozen, fresh, frosty....it's magical! It was a snow day for the kids, so all of them are outside playing. The ones who've never seen snow have a look of amazement on their sweet little faces. They don't quite know what to do. They walk tentitively. They stare blankly. They smile sheepishly.
They're cheeks are rosy red. Their noses runny!

Winston absolutely LOVES the snow. He rolls in it. He mashes his face in it. He eats it! What a goofball. I love this picture, though. He's so happy here. This dog is the sweetest animal on the planet; spoiled rotten and adored.

So the kids in Alameda blocked off 32nd place and
turned it into a sledding hill three blocks long! Man are they brave. Kids! They think they are invincible. Although after an hour they were so exhausted climbing up the hill, they resorted to making a HUGE snowball and carting it home for monster snowmen.

Let It Snow!

So I head to work Tuesday (my other job) and discover it's going to snow. It'll just be a little bit and the best chance of seeing any will be further north. So, they send me out to Ridgefield to cover the story. Next thing we know, the entire Northwest is covered in 3-5 inches of white! The city is paralized, the news is on 24/7 and the pictures show cars slipping and slamming into one another left and right. Well, being that I LOVE the weather, I prefer to see the beauty in it. I'm off to take Winston out to play in it. I'll snap some photos and I'll post them later today. It's a winter wonderland out there. The kids are off school, families are outside on a weekday. That's what life's about..... why can't it be like this everyday?

Cat Got Your Tongue??

Sunday, I photographed this delightful little boy at Union Station. He was in love with trains! He also loved to stick his tongue out, so why not snap a photo! Although, Mom (in the background of the photo) says to me, "I have so many of him with his tongue out! I want one of him smiling!"

This five year old was buzzing around from one spot to the next. I think his parents thought there was no way I'd get a decent picture of him.
It was also frigid that day, only 25 degrees! But by the time I was done with this session, I almost sweating. "D" can run! What a busy bee he is! And of course every child smiles, every child has that vulnerable sweet moment....you just have to be quick to capture it.

What a QT you are, "D!" And what a handsome man you will be.

Sweet Girl...Tender Heart

"G" is the most beautiful 4-year old girl. I had the privilege to photograph her and her newborn brother "L" before the New Year. These shots are my favorite as it stirs deep feelings of vulnerability and softness, especially in her and her brother's eyes. Oh those eyes! Could there be anything more beautiful than that? The eyes show the innocence of the child....

Rocky & Bullwinkle!

"E" and I decided to head to the Columbia River for a few shots with her beloved Pomeranian "Rocky." What a cute pair they are. Word is....she's set to get him a little sister soon! Adorable!
